Overcoming Writing Fears
This is my first blog, and yes, I’m afraid of writing. Afraid of expressing myself, afraid of sharing my thoughts, and definitely afraid of my friends pointing out every typo. I’m also curious (okay, maybe concerned) about how people will perceive my writing style.
I haven't written any blog posts, books, or anything that could pass as "literary." Just some technical reports and intimidating work emails, which hardly count. But hey, midlife is as good a time as any to change things up, right? I've got a storm of thoughts swirling in my head, and I figure it’s time to let some of it out before I overload.
As many of you know, I’m a mechanical engineer with a not-so-secret love for computers, programming, networking—basically, anything techy. How did I end up becoming a mechanical engineer instead of a tech wizard? Well, that’s a story for another time (and possibly a different blog).
So, what’s the reason for this sudden urge to write? Well, I built my own personal website, hosted it on my home network, and decided, "Hey, why not let the world get to know me a little better?" Hence, this blog. You're welcome!
In today’s AI-driven world, cranking out content is easier than ever. But I figured, why not let my unique (and slightly unpolished) perspective shine through? Sure, I use AI for proofreading (no shame in that), but the thoughts, for better or worse, are all mine.
I don’t expect this to be perfect—far from it. But if this blog teaches me anything, it’s that we all have to start somewhere. Even if it's a messy, typo-ridden somewhere. My hope is to become a better writer, and maybe even make you smile along the way. Thanks for sticking around. High five if you made it to the end!

MaintenanceMinor at 30K, Major at 60K — The Rhythm of Engine OverhaulsAn engine wears out on hours, not dates. The 30,000-hour minor is a checkpoint whose measurements shape the 60,000-hour major — and across a 32-engine fleet, sequencing, spares and records are what make the programme work.Read post →
EnergyWhy the Grid Struggles at 7 pm: Peak Demand, ExplainedThe evening peak is not a shortage of plants. It is a timing problem: demand climbs as solar falls away, and the system must ramp faster than its slowest plant can move — buying the last megawatts from the dear end of the merit order.Read post →
